My entry for OGAM49(theme: flight). Your goal is to climb the tower you start near.
Use WASD and the mouse to move and look around.
P=open the pause menu
SPACE=Jump. You can also do a double jump. You normally can't adjust your momentum while in the air, but after a double jump, you get a limited amount of air control using WASD.
RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON=Fly. Requires a full stamina bar. Flying in this game has a lot of weight and momentum to it. It controls like you are steering a plane.
R=respawn at the last checkpoint
In the pause menu, you can disable the restrictions on movement in the air.
You can control the game with a gamepad as well. A to jump, B to fly, and RB to respawn.
This is my second 3d project. I felt like I only learned the bare minimum of 3d gamedev with my last project, so I decided to fix that with this project. I'm not happy with how the gameplay turned out, but I learned a lot!

Thought it was really cool being able to look up and see everything above.
I got stuck around the third checkpoint and had to disable the flight restriction. And I got stuck again at the first ring. I'm not sure what it does. Regardless, I liked the platforming and I'm going to play around with it some more!
Nevermind I figured out the ring. I was just taking a bad angle. Is it possible to beat the game with the flight restrictions on?
I beat it! Nice game. I liked the ambient wind and the use of different walking sounds for different surfaces. It was a good touch.

The game was designed primarily around the flight restrictions being on. It does make things *significantly* harder though. You have to carefully plan your jumps, and take advantage of the limited air control you have after double jumping. Flying through the rings is also awkward using the mouse, and the set of the rings after the 1st are prob way harder than they should be in retrospect. Messing around with mouse sensitivity might help, though I think my way of handling sensitivity may have been flawed.. I figured most players would end up turning the restrictions off.
The ring is definitely not explained very well. It also only kicks in if you go through it while flying. I tried to place them in places where it was very unlikely someone would go through the ring while not in the flying state. Unfortunately, I forgot that disabling flight restrictions makes it pretty easy for that situation to happen...
